tech support people wanted

An ISO certified organisation needs people who can do on-site support for embedded Linux systems. The main requirements are being a technical person, having a drivers license, and the ability to follow a list of instructions. Having a probationary license might be a problem when visiting construction sites. If you feel you will be good at going through a check-list of wiring up a Linux system from a cherry-picker on a construction site but don't have a full license then apply, but be aware this will be an issue. If you are close to getting your full license then tell me how long it will be. It is possible to interview someone now and have them start work when their probationary period on their license ends. Having some prior knowledge of Linux is an advantage as is any prior involvement with makerspaces. Mac video editor and Linux shell skills needed

A client has a need for someone to edit movies on Macs who also has some Linux shell skills. The source data for the movies is on a Samba share and is generated on Linux systems. While Mac video editing is the main skillset being able to inveatigate issues on the Linux side is also necessary. NB There is no official position available yet. If I give my client the CV of someone suitable for the job they may decide to hire someone. An applicant who can start as a part time worker (maybe 1 or 2 days a week) would be preferred. Hi linux users victoria, I was recently employed by LIFX a smart lightbulb company for just over a year as a firmware developer and am now seeking new opportunities. I am a recent electrical engineering graduate with some embedded skillset (e.g. pcb design) but am flexible to learn other roles, e.g. firmware programmer, or just software development. Attached is my current resume that includes the letter of recommendation from LIFX. If you know of any other opportunities for me in embedded engineering (pcb or firmware) or software engineering, please let me know about it. We used to be known as the Dept of Agriculture many years ago, now we're part of Economic Development. We're in Melbourne, co-located on the Bundoora Campus of Latrobe Uni. New purpose built facility, onsite datacentre, cafe in the foyer, short walk to the centre of the Uni. We have a 3200 core CentOS Linux Cluster + assorted ancillary machines, using Torque/Moab for resource management and queueing. There's a small VMWare infrastructure and some Windows servers and desktops as well and some decent networking kit. Skills in Linux, HPC, networking, VMWare and Windows are required. Knowledge and exposure to Schneider/APC hot-aisle containment systems and Struxureware Datacentre Expert software a bonus.
