Linux software developer @ Monash Uni, Caulfield (Melbourne)
2 year, full time, fixed-term.
AU$84,658 - $91,378 pa (HEW Level 06), includes 17% super.
Note: Applicants will require Australian visa with work rights in-hand
as the university won't sponsor on this occasion.
The post is based within the e-Solutions research service section but
spending 80% of time on nationally funded, open source Linux based
e-Exam system/infrastructure project - so development of Linux
components not just using it, thus strong Linux development skills
required. Based on 'Live' Ubuntu for clients and server side admin
tools, web apps e.g PhP, Moodle LMS, MySQL etc.
The project is seeking to enable BYO laptop based exams with network
reticulation of responses/control using Bootable USB sticks. The aim
is to provide a controlled, but rich, 'whole computer' environment in
the exam room, not just a single software exam tool.
Based on-site at Caulfield, Melbourne but there is some opportunity
for flexible working arrangements.
Closing date: Sunday 7 February 2016
