Yep. Good points. All part of the "excitement" of working for a
company trying to commercialise a technology. Manufacturing has been
shifted to Germany, as there is a lot more government support for micro
generators there than here in Australia. It also means manufacturing is
close to the other promising market in the UK. R&D is still firmly
planted in Noble Park (and not on a bamboo raft to the South East of
Brisbane). There are no plans to shut down the Australian side of the
operation, as this is where the main product knowledge base resides.
I would say the company has a fair chance of succeeding commercially,
and the technology is important socially and environmentally.
As to the Australian staff, many of them were made redundant
approximately 6 months back. This lead to the inevitable drop in moral
of the remaining staff, but moral has improved since then. I don't
foresee the company doing that again any time soon. I've found them a
good and generally happy bunch of people to work with.

are seeking a like-minded individual who is ready to hit the ground
running in a very supportive team based environment.
This is a challenging fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced
web developer to join our Software Engineering Team. The successful
candidate will primarily be responsible for designing, supporting and
maintaining the CFCL user website and internal suite of tools including:
alarm handling, graphing, utilities and logging interfaces.
Key duties will include writing programs to develop functioning
websites, development and execution of specifications for web interface
programs, interpreting customer service specifications, implementing and
testing design concepts and improvements and troubleshooting
computer/network/server/database problems. You will also assist support
engineers in developing further specifications on website functionality.
Ideally the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills
and experience:
() Tertiary qualification in computer science
() Sound experience in website development, support and maintenance
() Demonstrated skills in Linux, Apache and MySQL and PHP
() Preferably skills in JQuery, HTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX
() Experience with REST servers will be highly regarded
A team player, you are an innovative thinker with strong problem solving
and interpersonal skills.
