We are looking for a highly technical and driven Senior Linux Engineer/ Team Leader for a market frontrunner.

The Systems Administration Team is in charged with maintaining the availability of a mission critical system.
Responsibilities:
*Staff Management - define, implement and monitor KPIs for the team, in alignment with the overall Operational Plan
*Coach, mentor and lead highly technical systems engineers to maximise performance and work with the HR team to identify and develop training plans and conduct regular performance reviews
*Service Availability and Performance - ensure that the availability and performance of all Production Services is maintained at the highest possible level.
*System Security - Ensure that the security of all is at the highest possible level by performing regular security audits, updating all software and hardware patches and aligning with ISO27001 standards
*Project Management - getting involved with solutions design and project management when required.
Requirements:
*Solid experience as a Senior Linux Systems Engineer - Team leading experience not prerequisite
*Experience working with mission critical systems and understanding the high pressure SLAs
Technical Environment:
*Mostly Linux Servers and Various models of IBM servers and Win Servers
*Cisco Equipment
*F5 Equipment
*Primarily a Red Hat shop when it comes to data centre and server OS and Windows is the chosen desktop/office platform
*Web server administration

This role you will be reporting to the Systems Manager and will be responsible for system administration of our world-wide infrastructure and support team members at multiple
locations.
Essential skills, attributes and expertise:
- Debian/Ubuntu Linux Installation & Administration
- Strong networking skills and experience with firewall configuration
- Experience with server backups automation
- Excellent troubleshooting ability
- Hardware maintenance skills
- Shell scripting and Perl programming

Desired skills and experience:
- Experience with VPN
- Experience working with Mac OS X
- Familiar with virtualisation
