Research Platform Services (ResPlat) is a department within Infrastructure
Services, part of University Services at the University of Melbourne. Broadly
speaking, ResPlat is responsible for providing research computing
infrastructure via its two foundation platforms: Compute Services and Data
Services. ResPlat also provides a substantial program of training and

also strongly engaged in national initiatives such as the National cloud
infrastructure program (NeCTAR) and National Research Data Services (RDS)
program.
ResPlat's Compute Services consist of several computation platforms sitting on
top of its cloud infrastructure. These include Infrastructure-as-a-Service
(Virtual Machines and Virtual Labs), Platform-as-a-Service (as Docker
container applications), High Performance and High Throughput Computing
