Our client is an ASX listed technology leader with a reputation based on
innovation and quality. Due to continued growth in both domestic and
international markets, they now require a permanent Linux Engineer to join
their technology team.
The Linux Engineer is responsible for maintenance and support of the AIX
and Red Hat Linux related Infrastructure, ensuring capability and
performance that is aligned to business expectation of service levels,
compliance and risk. Being a critical service delivery role, you will be
responsible for the proactive management of all AIX and Linux servers and
related devices, including the operating systems and infrastructure
related applications (for example, SAN Management). In addition, this role
will also see you work closely with Storage technology and you will
ideally have experience with HDS, NetBackup or Veritas Volume Manager.
Required Skills
RedHat Set-up, administration and troubleshooting.
RedHat Satellite for Provisioning and Patching.
Enterprise Storage and Backup experience - Veritas volume manager and
Netbackup, HDS
AIX Set-up, administration and troubleshooting.
Working technical knowledge of Scripting - PERL, shell scripts
Understanding of integration of LINUX/UNIX security with Active Directory
(or other LDAP systems).
Experience in patch management on Unix and Linux Systems
Desirable Skills
Previous experience working in an operational 24*7 environment
Understanding of the Oracle product suite and how it interacts with UNIX
