Hi, I am writing a PHP Web application and look for a way to convert and show documents (esp. Word and Excel, old and new format) I found a Open/LibreOffice converter service: http://zawmn83.wordpress.com/2008/08/12/php-convert-microsoft-word-doc-docx… I would like to restrict the LibreOffice to this tool only. I glanced over the Makefile but could not make sense of many options. Did someone achieve this before? Or are there other ways? Thanks for ideas Peter

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00 I'm getting the above error when I try to upload code to an Arduino Uno clone (DFRduino) from the "arduino" program on Debian/Unstable. Any suggestions on what I should do to try and fix this? A project I'm working on needs the below part tomorrow. Do you know of a shop in or near Melbourne that would sell one on a Sunday? Thanks. Replacement: DEV-10009. The new version does not have the 6-pin header. This page is for reference only. Description: This is a basic breakout board for the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial IC. The pinout of this board matches the FTDI cable to work with official Arduino and cloned 3.3V Arduino boards. It can also be used for general serial applications. The major difference with this board is that it brings out the DTR pin as opposed to the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The DTR pin allows an Arduino target to auto-reset when a new Sketch is downloaded. This is a really nice feature to have and allows a sketch to be downloaded without having to hit the reset button. This board will auto reset any Arduino board that has the reset pin brought out to a 6-pin connector. The pins labeled BLK and GRN correspond to the colored wires on the FTDI cable. The black wire on the FTDI cable is GND, green is DTR. Bash quoting oddness

Hi folks, I'm banging my head against how to properly pass a list of arguments in a variable through to a command in bash where the list of arguments itself has quoted values in it. Here's a test case script: $ cat odd-quoting.sh #!/bin/bash a='--debug --make-maker=--make-maker="INSTALLDIRS=vendor INSTALLMAN1DIR=none INSTALLMAN3DIR=none" --no-sign' echo cpan2rpm $a If I run that script with dash on Ubuntu it looks fine: $ sh -x odd-quoting.sh + a=--debug --make-maker=--make-maker="INSTALLDIRS=vendor INSTALLMAN1DIR=none INSTALLMAN3DIR=none" --no-sign + echo cpan2rpm --debug --make-maker=--make-maker="INSTALLDIRS=vendor INSTALLMAN1DIR=none INSTALLMAN3DIR=none" --no-sign [...] But if I run it with bash on either Ubuntu or my actual target, RHEL6, it gets it wrong: $ bash -x odd-quoting.sh + a='--debug --make-maker=--make-maker="INSTALLDIRS=vendor INSTALLMAN1DIR=none INSTALLMAN3DIR=none" --no-sign' + echo cpan2rpm --debug '--make-maker=--make-maker="INSTALLDIRS=vendor' INSTALLMAN1DIR=none 'INSTALLMAN3DIR=none"' --no-sign [...] I get the same problem if I run bash from its /bin/sh symlink on RHEL6. Mysql Slightly OT

I'm using Drupal 7 and mysql in Fedora 16 Drupal 7 organic groups has put entries into fields in the database but I do not know which tables or where in which tables. I have searched many tables manually but no luck. Is there a mysql command to find the contents of a field containing a specific word somewhere in the database? Apologies for OT Roger

gvfs mount vs mount.cifs

On my work notebook running LMDE with cinnamon I can use nautilus to "connect to server", in this case my 'home' share on the Monash windows AD service. The connection I get gives me all pertinent file system rights and appears in the .gvfs folder in my home folder with the expected rights as well. However if I issue a direct mount.cifs command thus: ~$ sudo mount.cifs //ad.monash.edu/home/my-server-name/colinfee/home/colinfee/ad-home -ocredentials=/home/colinfee/.smb/ad-credentials It mounts but with the /home/colinfee/ad-home and subfolders etc owned by root. Varying the mount command thus makes no difference ~$ sudo mount.cifs //ad.monash.edu/home/my-server-name/colinfee/home/colinfee/ad-home -ocredentials=/home/colinfee/.smb/ad-credentials,uid=colinfee,gid=colinfee,setuids ~$ ls -ald ad-home drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 0 Apr 16 16:42 ad-home/ I've also tried the forceuid/gid options too. I can use file_mode=0777 and dir_mode=077 to override the issue but it seems like cheating. Is what I'm seeing an artefact of my local LMDE system or the remote Windows AD share? As it works via the nautilus fuse method, why not mount? Ultimately what I'm trying to do is mount the share and use rsync to sync my local files to the server. -- Colin Fee tfeccles(a)gmail.com

dhcp-fwd on openwrt

I'm struggling with dhcp-fwd on an openwrt box (buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh2ap). It receives the discover packet on the lan, forwards it on the other interface, but then ignores the reply when it comes back. I'm using dhcp-fwd with tunnels everywhere else and it works fine but this is a point to point wireless link. Any suggestions? Thanks James
