HW Problem

hi My secondary PC with a TVI card is in a continuous reboot cycle and does not complete the login and display of the GUI. So far removed SSD boot drive and tested with fsck and smartctl - reboot cycle continues with disk removed and a Fedora Live disk in CD player removed TVI card - reboot cycle continues used a PSU tester all values report nominal - reboot cycle continues used Fedora Live disk to run memtest - 15 cycles over 12 hours completed without error and text display replaced graphics card - reboot cycle continues HDDs are new less than 2000 hours so HDD newish SSD tests OK DVD boots Fedora Live disk mb & ram & video runs in non gui mode PSU tests as OK graphics card replaced TVI card in or out makes no difference suggestions (new PSU would be next step) Steve

enabling SElinx

Hello, I have two questions. 1.How do I enable SElinux on my Linux mint 17 system? I just want simple default settings useful for an average user that mostly does web browsing.By the way I have tried google and found all of the information I looked at about enabling SElinux very confusing.I presume the following website is the main source of information on SElinx http://selinuxproject.org/page/Main_Page but I could not find how to enable SElinux from it.If this information is not on the website in a simple form my next question is 2.Why not? Please consider this question very carefully before answering. I am thinking many things to do with Linux are deliberately made confusing by saboteurs.Maybe I am completely wrong but as a Linux beginner that is a strong impression I am getting. regards Peter

Thanks Glen for your great help last Sat, and also Daniel's, in finally figuring out what exactly happened to Justin PC's failure to partition the SSD for his Linux distro. Your explanation here in luv main list in clear technical details on the whole issue is certainly of great value to anyone who encounter similar issue in future! I'm sure this tricky problem will be solved on or before our next LUV Beginners Workshop.
