Printing from Android

Hello All, I have a friend I assist as best I can, who has a Samsung Galaxy Tab S that he wishes to print photos from. I think I found an app in the Google Play store, by Googling from my notebook on a dial up connection, but not quite sure of requirements and limitations. While it is probably possible to print direct to a wi-fi network colour laser, I have in mind a Brother HL-3045CN and attaching it to some switch or router with both wired and wi-fi support. Any information from experience and comments would be appreciated. I am still looking for information on CUPS and printing from Debian 7.8 to a Canon LBP-5050N, the error message relates to a "Broken pipe" and I continue to nose around CUPS and the configuration and scratch my head and get splinters. android answering machine?

my phone only rings about 3 times before diverting to voicemail, so if (as is usual) my phone is in another room plugged in to the charger, it gets diverted to voicemail just as i'm picking it up to answer it. this is very annoying. anyone know of an android app that works like an old fashioned land-line answering machine, i.e. 1. answers the call after X rings 2. plays a short message, that I can record like "leave a message after the beep" 3. starts recording, saving to sdcard AND playing on the phone's speaker and, most importantly: 4. allows me to pick up the call during the recording. i don't really care if it continues to record the conversation from this point or not. a search on the google play store for 'call screening' or 'answering machine' just gets a shitload of garbage. craig -- craig sanders <cas(a)taz.net.au>

Hi Luvers, I think LUV could have a (or more) team(s)at this event this weekend. (see below) If anyone is interested, ** please register and let me know **. I have registered. For info: 1. I will go to the idea sprint on 28 May. (Thursday). 2. Last year I went to this event (or equivalent)...and I had no idea what it was all about before going! I just went there teamed up with 4 other people I have never ever met before and ... we actually won the 2nd Prize!! from about 12 or 15 teams. I consider we should have won the first prize, but as it was a return ticket to USA, that made it difficult to share between 5 of us!! ...So put it this way, if the judging criteria is same as last year, I have a fair idea what it takes to win a prize! (and what it takes not not win one!!) 3. If you are interested, please email me with skills you can contribute. Note that non-techies can also be involved, infact I think this is why we did well last year, as we had a good balanced team with highly complementary skills. Someone with Open Street map api skills or Google map api (or the Nokia stuff - forgot how its called?) would also be highly useful. People who can put up a good webfront with python/php/perl etc backend quickly. Someone with good communication/marketing skills also useful.
