Labor opposing East West Link - good news, at least for me.
There is no contract signed yet - so all uncertainty claims are quite
strange. It is up to the government in power to create certainty - by
waiting with the contracts until after the election.
The process is before the courts because the link did not go through a
proper planning, assessment and consultation process yet. The lack of
process created the uncertainty.
So the government can correct it by honouring process. This would make it
a decision made by a government which asked for a mandate from the

the Labor decision to dump the East West Link is a good one for us in
Please cancel the project if you care for Victoria. It may save hundred of
millions or billions of dollars of claims when the project finally ends in
the bin, as it should.
The East West Link is not a properly planned project. I contacted you before
about my concerns. Some of the events and claims are truly bizarre if you
are familiar with the area as I am.
I work in Kensington. I frequently use the bike track along the Mooney Ponds
Creek you want to overshadow with another bunch of lanes. I also spend a lot
of time waiting for and in trains from and to Craigieburn and Upfield which
never go on time.
It is not a surprise that the whole case is before the courts. The rush to
lock it in resulted in a shoddy process which defies logic and did never
satisfy requirements of proper consulting with the public. Even now, the
design is still work in progress, and some of the "corrections" over time
looked as professional as me designing a model train with my son. How can
this being assessed? How can the community have a sufficient input in this
How can you sign contracts with this uncertainty? It will be a liability for
any future government and all Victorians.
A tender process where you continue with one bidder only is another detail
not making sense. I never do that if I want a good deal.
You were elected with the Liberals claiming support for the Metro Rail Link.
You did not advance the project. Instead it became another train wreck of
"planning on the run".
Please bring that back into action instead of tinkering with the East West
Link if you want to do something for Victoria.
Picked up a Samsung Galaxy SII m/n -191100T amoungst large collection of
old laptops (most faulty) and other IT stuff which were being
disgarded'; looks like it works fine; charges OK.
Just contacted their support after a quick look through the user manual;
It's authoritive one can't delete the supplied applications !
So it gets flogged on Gumtree
If I'm ever in the market for one of these sort of phones;
application deletion will be high on the feature list!
Ah theres nothing like a sense of high minded outrage;
to set one up for the day; but not quite as good as coffee,
which comes next ! ;

Cult television cartoon, spun-off from its role as a segment in the
Animaniacs series. Pinky and Brain are mice who both live in a cage in
the Acme labs, the product of genetic experiment. Brain is a would-be
evil genius who conspires every episode with a daft plot to take over
the world. Pinky has a few screws loose and specialises in bizarre
non-sequitur responses. The theme song is extremely catchy.
'It's Pinky and the Brain.
Yes, Pinky and the Brain.
One is a genius,
The other's insane.
They're laboratory mice;
Their genes have been spliced.
they're Pinky and the Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain.
Before each night is done,
Their plan will be unfurled:
By the dawning of the sun,
They'll take over the world.
They're Pinky and the Brain.
Yes, Pinky and the Brain.
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousy worth,
They'll overthrow the earth.
They're Pinky, they're Pinky and the Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, narf!'
A Meetup I thought would interest a reasonable proportion of LUV-talk, at least those on the list that frequently post to it. (The rest of you are mostly a mystery, but you presumably have an interest in at least some FOSS and in quality+quantity of life.)
Am I the only one here who feels like Climate Change is getting way disproportionate attention compared to other ecological threats such as accumulation of plastic refuse? Obviously ecosystems have complex interplay between various factors, eg. if ozone layer destruction hadn't been slowed, any greenhouse effects could have been much worse by now! But I think that's a reason to NOT overly focus on "Greenhouse Gases" and particularly almost all on CO2.
