Commercial installation of Lineage on Samsung Galaxy SII m/n GT-i9100T ? Just in case anyone knows; I would like to replace the device's current OS (Android 4.1.2); which was locked to OPTUS, though subsequently it has been unlocked to the extent it can now be put , on a Telstra account , but still retains the the OPTUS ensignia. I missed the recent meeting where help was being provided to do a Lineage instal; and am wondering if there are establishments (cough, cough) where I can have this done commercially ? Currently I have a lot of projects with higher priority and previous attempts using the many online 'recipes', have all been unsuccessful (very frustrating to as they all advertise themselves as 'really simple', but when you read the fine print and discover the hidden software/ technical dependencies they prove anything but !) Back ground history to this device is it is something I have been playing with on and off for a couple of years; trying to make it useable gradually deleting 'apps' with the help of "Kingroot"and occasionally needing to start again, with a factory reset. Recently I had a look around for some 'apps' using my desktop and I suddenly realized just how, much I was being corralled into Google-store and Samsung Apps......apparently by Android My aversion to Google started when I discovered they were essentially demanding a known IP; in order to 'allow' me access to my own gmail account (this I proved when I tried logging on via Tor) Subsequently I have closed all google accounts , replacing gmail and google-drive with vfemail and cloudup; which are both accessible via Tor. It seems to me power really does corrupt; in the assumption of inequitable self serving entitlement ! First there was IBM, then Microsoft now Google ! regards Rohan McLeod

Android suggestions

Evening all, My Nexus 5 has today decided to enter the bootloop of death and nothing I've tried has been able to recover it.Therefore, I'm looking for some suggestions for a replacement. I don't need the latest and greatest, but I do want something that will last a few years as I'm not one to change my phone regularly. Something that receives regular security updates would be great. I'd also like an unlockable bootloader, so I can replace the OS with Linage when it's inevitably abandoned by the manufacturer. Budget is probably sub $400. Any and all suggestions welcome. Morning Philip, Bu 'bootloop of dealth' I mean a continuous bootloop when on charge, when off charge the phone wont boot at all. The bootloop cycle is so short I can't even enter the bootloader. It seems to be a reasonably common problem with that particular phone. Hope yours keeps on chugging away! Since the list is deafeningly quiet of late; and just on the off chance someone done something like this; (so no speculation please !). I am looking for a company that does very small scale (eg prototype); high precission laser cutting of small items (less than 50mm) from thin stainless steel. Cordless VOIP phone

Hello, Just wondering what a good cordless VOIP solution is? Last time I asked somewhere, the Gigaset was recommended. Think I might have the C610 IIRC (can't see how to double check). However I am now finding that the batteries don't last - possibly due to memory affect. I tried getting more expensive AA batteries, but it hasn't helped. Seems like this might be a common problem, seems like the recommendation is not to leave the phones on the chargers. Which means trying to manage when batteries are going flat and recharge them before they go dead flat. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27397159-Gigaset-C610H-Batteries~start=30 Looking at Gigaset's website, I am somewhat overwealmed with choices, and there doesn't seem to be any easy way of identifying the differences between the different model numbers. e.g. what does the C, E, S, SL, CL prefix mean.
