The next LUV Beginner's Workshop and Tutorial and the OLPC Corner will be
on the *17th of March*.
*"My Linux System" -- Daniel Jitnah -- 13:00 to 14:00*
In this talk, I will describe my own Linux system, which I have been using
for about 10 years with minimal change apart from regular upgrades.
I will cover the things I can do and can't do, things that work well and
not so well.
This is not meant to be an "ideal" or "best case" setup, but an example of
what has served me well and to give some ideas to beginners about what can
be done. At the very least, I don't think I could ever come close to having
such setup if I was using any "dark-side" OS!
This talk will include some live demonstrations.(assuming availability of
satisfactory internet connection)
This is mostly my experience and story; feedback on how things can be
improved will be most welcome.
*Short Bio of Daniel Jitnah:*
Daniel is a long time Linux user and runs his own Open Source and Linux
consultancy business GreenwareIT. He is also the Vice President of LUV and
a Director of Open Source Industry Australia. (OSIA)
In a past life he was a Secondary School Teacher, and has maintained a
strong interest in the use of Open Source and Linux in the Education
Sector. Daniel has never used a Microsoft product as his primary operating
system, and does not know the meaning of the word "PowerPoint".
