Paul is a computational scientist. That is, a computer scientist, an
information technology professional, a computational mathematician, a
combinatorialist, and a bioinformatician. He is interested in all these
fields, as well as mathematics education, tertiary teaching, Clifford
algebras, space science, science in general, innovation and
entrepreneurship. He especially likes it when people use his work to do
something of value. He is currently working as a scientific programmer
at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
There will also be the usual casual hands-on workshop, Linux
installation, configuration and assistance and advice. Bring your laptop
if you need help with a particular issue. This will now occur BEFORE the
talks from 12:30 to 14:00. The talks will commence at 14:00 (2pm) so
there is time for people to have lunch nearby.
The meeting will be held at Infoxchange, 33 Elizabeth St. Richmond 3121.
Late arrivals please call (0421) 775 358 for access to the venue.
LUV would like to acknowledge Infoxchange for the venue.

My name is Andrea Cucciniello, I'm the co-organiser of the local
PostgreSQL User Group and volunteer of the PostgreSQL Down Under Inc
association. The association purpose is to support the growth and
education of PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database.
We are organising PGDay Down Under conference on December 7th, in
Melbourne.
Given your interest in Postgres and Open Source software, I thought you
might be interested attending the event.
I guess many LUV members might be interested as well and if you can
share the message with them it would be much appreciated.
Early bird registrations are open https://2018.pgdu.org/
In addition you are more than welcome to submit a talk proposal by
Sunday on October 21st. CFP closes at midnight Melbourne time.
Thank you,
Andrea
