* Mike King, "Gamification - the process of applying gaming techniques to
Mike King, CIO of Horizon Consumer Science will speak on "Gamification -
the process of applying gaming techniques to business applications".
Horizon Consumer Science is an international market research companies
with offices in Melbourne, Los Angeles and London. Mike has B.Sc. in
Engineering Science from Warwick University in the UK, and has 30 years of
experience in software development, including real time monitoring
systems, communications protocols and web and database technologies.
* Andrew Bartlett, "The Samba 4.0 Release"
Andrew Bartlett has been a Samba developer for over 12 years, working
particularly on authentication systems. He is incredibly proad of the
recent release of Samba 4.0, the world's first Free Software Active
Directory Domain Controller. Andrew will talk about the Samba 4.0 release,
what it contains, what it can do and what it means for users. Andrew will
then encourage a discussion about potential ways it might be used by Linux
users in Victoria.

City) passes by the main entrance of Trinity College (Get off at Morrah

Before and/or after each meeting those who are interested are welcome to
join other members for dinner. We are open to suggestions for a good place
to eat near our venue. Maria's on Peel Street in North Melbourne is
currently the most popular place to eat after meetings.
