In this talk, Alex will give a practical overview of OpenShot, an easy to
use video editing built on Python and GTK.
Alex is LUV committee member who operates his own Linux-orientated
computer consultancy that provides technical support, training and
development, web development and video and audio services.
General Workshop Area:
At the LUV Beginner's workshop you can come along and work with Linux
enthusiasts to assist you in setting up your system the way you want. This
could include friendly advice on partitions, distributions,
configurations, networking and specific applications. Bring your laptop!
The Melbourne OLPC Club meetings are co-located with the Beginner's
Workshops. If you are interested in the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child)
project, please come and join in!
VPAC is on the ground floor of Building 91, RMIT, 110 Victoria Street,
Carlton, close to the corner of Swanston and Victoria Streets.
It is accessible by all Swanston Street trams and is is near to Melbourne
Central train station.

Greetings. This email is a gentle reminder that the linux.conf.au call
for mini-conferences closes in three days on 6 July 2012. Miniconfs are
day-long sessions on a specific topic: a miniature conference, with a
formal schedule published ahead of time listing speakers and sessions
for the day.

** There will be NO extension of the mini-conference submission deadline. **
The conference will showcase the best of open source and
community-driven software and hardware. It will be held in Canberra at
the Australian National University from Monday 28 January to Saturday 2
February, 2013, and provides a great opportunity for open source
developers, users, hackers, and makers to share their ideas and further
improve their projects.
