http://www.religioustolerance.org/mar_bibl0.htm The above URL has a good list of the types of relationship that are mentioned in the Bible. As almost no-one is demented enough to propose that all those nasty things be legalised I think we can safely assume that our society will never go for Biblical marriage as described in the Old Testament. As for the New Testament, there is no report of Jesus having made any comment on the matter of Gay Marriage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex-gay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Haggard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Alan_Rekers#.22Rent_boy.22_allegations After my last message on this topic a member of this list tried to convince me to read an ex-gay propaganda book. As the religious leaders who advocate such "conversion" seem unable to refrain from Gay sex themselves it seems quite clear that it doesn't work, not even for the most dedicated ex-Gay people. In general there's no chance that I'm ever going to pay money (or go to the effort of a library visit) to read propaganda that someone advocates via email. If you want me to read about something then cite a public access web site. Please note that I'm not attacking Christianity. The people who advocate the Rekers approach are the ones who bring Christianity into disrepute. There are a lot of really nice Christians who are holding their faces in their hands as the ex-Gay people do insane stuff. -- My Main Blog http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/

This has been discussed in several forums. The one thing about the tradition of marriage that sticks in my mind is that what's considered "tradition" evolves with society. Today, we're merely seeing the next stage of that evolution.

As a matter of fact, the former leader of Exodus International (a well known ex-gay group) now freely admits that ex gay "therapy" doesn't work and can be harmful. 73 de VK3JED / VK3IRL http://vkradio.com
