If there were a few more Greens MPs and Senators then they would be in a better position to force the government to support such legislation.
That's what the Democrats used to say... No one in the Greens camp seems to truly grasp or understand the word "hubris". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubris
getting more votes for the Greens is a really good thing. Marriage equality isn't going to happen in the current parliament, and maybe not the next one.
That maybe. But it could have if the Greens had of lead by example, and dared to take the bull by the horns instead of mucking around with power plays. Penny Wong is a great role model , and dare I say it , Bob as well. If both of these people really pushed we would have success sooner rather than later. But they won't because their respective parties are too busy trying to keep themselves relevant. Never forget that the Greens are holding on by virtue of the upper house cycle being longer than the lower house. Any new government with the guts to call a quick double dissolution well...perhaps then the Greens would understand hubris. We live in interesting times. BW
