the USB device?
You can specify it as in the following examples:
options snd_usb_audio index=1
options snd_hda_intel index=0
I created a file for this: /etc/modprobe.d/sound-devices.conf. Essentially,
it specifies parameters to the kernel modules as they are loaded.
