GEELONG HAS A linux.conf.au 2015 BID IN PROGRESS
With much kudos to David Bell, a formal linux.conf.au 2015 bid is in
progress. Meetings have been held with Business Events Geelong, and the
initial thoughts for the bid document have been made publicly available
for discussion and comment;
ICT Geelong has been reinvigorated for 2013. If you'd like to keep in

CALL FOR NEWSLETTER ARTICLES FROM LINUX AUSTRALIA
Linux Australia recently launched a newsletter
and are seeking contributions for articles around open source, open
hardware, Linux and related topics for their next newsletter (due in

NEXT LINUX USERS VICTORIA MEET
Will be on Saturday 18th May where Lev Lafayette will be providing an
introduction to supercomputers.

MELBOURNE WIRELESS - MORE GEELONG NODES
We now have a significant number of nodes in Geelong connected to
Geelong's own Ryan Parker-Hill and Andrew van Slageren are heavily
involved and would love to hear from you if you're interested in knowing
more - just reply to this thread and we'll pass the message on.
GOVHACK 1-2 JUNE
This is a hack day organised to encourage government agencies to open up
their datasets - ie open government and open data.
There will be a GovHack in Melbourne, just near Southern Cross station -
so easy to get to for Geelong folks.

Will be on Saturday September 15th. We're not sure if there will be a
Melbourne event, or whether there's enough interest to hold a Geelong event.
