*Introduction to shell programming
*

A lot of things in Linux are done on the command line. This talk starts
with a very basic knowledge of the command line and describes how to
leverage this into a powerful programming system. Transform those snips
of commands into powerful self documenting scripts to super charge your
productivity.

*Andrew Worsley* is an embedded software engineer with 30+ years of
programming experience. He has worked in a wide variety of areas from
kernel drivers and compilers to networking equipment, AI programming
languages and image processing systems such as Kodak's Image Magic. This
included a variety of low level coding such writing microcode for
network processors to porting kernels to new Intel and ARM based
hardware. These days he is trying to keep bugs out of very high speed
(100Gbit/s) encryption systems that are manufactured in Victoria and
sold around the world.

There will also be the usual casual hands-on workshop, Linux
installation, configuration and assistance and advice. Bring your laptop
if you need help with a particular issue. This will now occur *BEFORE*
the talks from 12:30 to 14:00. The talks will commence at 14:00 (2pm) so
there is time for people to have lunch nearby.

The meeting will be held at Infoxchange, 33 Elizabeth St. Richmond 3121
