I think some of the Lentil As Anything vegetarian restaurants have been at least self-supporting despite the customer choosing how much to pay. This has never been true of the buffet in Footscray and it seems to have been supported by other branches for a long time, for charitable reasons. So LAA like it's customers now treats it as a charity, calls for volunteer labour, more donations and has organised fund raisers. The income at Footscray is lower than ever so the venue is expected to close unless things change.
