European fascism and communism in the twentieth century, culminating in World War II for example... or North Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia... right now. Arguably, Somalia isn't a good example because it hasn't had a functioning government since 1991, and you could say that the absence of a government isn't really a case of bad government.
