In memory of Dr. D.A. Henderson
Last year, like many, I made a couple of remarks about the loss of life of some favourite people in the entertainment industry. It is to my shame that I didn't comment on the time on the passing of Dr. D.A. Henderson, the person in charge of the eradication of smallpox. It took him and the team a mere 10 years to end smallpox on the planet. Smallpox was responsible for the deaths of an estimated 500 million people in the 20th century. Now, on the anniversary of his passing I shall make amends. Vale Dr. Henderson. We are all too busy with life. There was a lot else happening last year.
Smallpox was responsible for the deaths of an estimated 500 million people in the 20th century.
