That is the very short version:
Act now! https://www.amnesty.org.au/act-now/end-secret-abuse-on-nauru/
The longer- Why?
And here what you hear in Germany over the last months:
Die Zeit (The Time, a popular and well-known German weekly magazine)
Amnesty International accuses Australia to torture refugees, 17/10/2016
Nothing new, just Hell on Earth(11/8/2016)
German's public broadcaster:
Nauru - From one Hell to another(14/8/2016)
Australia's Hell for refugees (10/8/2016)
Jailed on islands (7/6/2016)
German's biggest ISP:
Australia treats humans with unbelievable cruelty(31/8/2016)
Austria's most read newspaper:
Refugee politics in Australia: most do not want to mention the
German's International radio station:
Australia is closing refugee camps on Manus Island(17/8/2016)
[well, that what German journalists expect after the highest court of
Papua New Guinea declared the camp for illegal]
Our treatment of refugees is the most-reported Australia topic for
years by now. We are getting famous for it. Sorry, infamous.
We may look the other way. The civilized world does not.
Apologies for being such a pest.
But maybe the bigger pest is some ongoing issue since 2001. This is 15
years of state-sanctioned inhumane campaigning against refugees and
ignorance of our international obligations by now.
It is high time for all Australians to do something about it.
