While still doing Climate Change (CC) research (or is that reading?), I
decided it best to try and find something definitive.
I asked myself what is, ignoring those who speak out against CC (1),
that those who support CC as true could offer as definitive and
undeniably caused by CC or its indirect effects.
I put off looking at sea level increase as an indicator because of the
hysteria surrounding its discussion (probably more accurate to say
debate[sic]) but spent a short time on it today.
Tuvalu, it seems is the litmus test for sea level increase caused by CC.
However, there is scant information on other islands being inundated,
Tuvalu (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuvalu) is an atoll
(1) Please bear in mind I have concluded that there are outrageous
zealots both for and against CC. I try and ignore such fundamentalists.
Atolls generally tend to "sink" as a result of natural subsidence of the
volcano that created them.
Coral, on which the islands are built, has a small tendency to continue
compacting.
Farming compacts land.
Islands tend to spread out, thus losing height.
