Fwd: WARNING: Geomagnetic K-index of 7 or greater (G3 or Greater)

Hello, As IT tech types, working with some very expensive and sensitive equipment, thought you may be interested in this solar storm warning I just got (below). I've been on that US Gov subscription list for a few months now, and this is the FIRST warning I've ever received. Please let me know if I shouldn't do this sort of thing on the list. luv-talk? Go ahead, although it might annoy people if done regularly (but it probably won't since it doesn't appear too regular!), as then they would just sign up to the list themselves if they wanted it. Incidentally, I personally signed up to IPS Australia's list, but on an old email address, so I always read the (more frequent) alerts months after they were issued. Doesn't help me see the aurora when I read them a month late :(

Damn you earth weather, I want to look at the pretty space weather! I don't know the NOAA scale, but if they're calling it extreme, it's likely we'd see aurora on a clear night from Melbourne.

Bah, damn Americans. Yeah, you probably want to sign up to Australia's version. There'll be a mailing list under here somewhere: http://www.ips.gov.au/ -- Tim Connors
