Retro.asn.au - a special interest group for people who enjoy collecting and playing retro video games

If any of you might want to go this meeting if it was on another date I'd suggest you point that out ASAP. But as I can't see a link to email on the website http://retro.asn.au/ I'm Bcc: ing this to a co-convenor. Either he can tell me an email to post (won't be for some days) or he can check luv-talk@luv.asn.au for comments or I'll check for comments in a few days. I always recommend groups go for the last *day of the month because sometimes that's the 4th & sometimes the 5th which could mean some folk can get there who otherwise never could. But nearly everyone goes for the first 3 weeks of the month. Dav(e/id/o/y) Will Romney become god of his own universe? www.mormonthink.com

Looks awesome :) Any chance of having a speaker from this retro group at LUV next year? Linux content of some sort required of course... I believe that there is more than a few retro games that have been ported in such a manner. Perhaps a beginner's talk on Linux and MAME? I imagine there would be a slim chance but don't ask me, I've nothing to do with them except I know of lot of them from Amiga groups. But I'll Cc this to AUG & MAUG's Yahoo group, I think some people in AUG &/or MAUG have used Mame on/under GNU/Linux. (Although they may not read those yahoo groups). And I'll BCc Retro co-founder Julian who posts to the AUG discussions but may not read them all. (There's a corellation between posters from his suburb & non-sequitur posts;- and if I call them non-sequitur that's sayin sumpthin!) Anyway according to the website http://retro.asn.au/ there will be a Retro meeting tonight & I can find no reference to a LUV meeting tonight so then's a chance for a LUV regular to check out Retro without missing their first LUV ;-) (Anyway, I'm hitting the hay, I feel like I haven't slept all year!)

Hi all, What group is LUV? I'm guessing the L is for Linux - unfortunately I don't have much exposure to Linux from a game perspective, but I'll mention to the others at tonight's retro meeting this email thread. Btw, you are most welcome to come along to the retro.asn.au meeting tonight to either play some old console games, or perhaps bring your old consoles to share.
