I agree with Trent, (that might worry him)! Much as I don't like to support near duopolies I suspect the Jeans in Target/Kmart/Coles/Fosseys & BigW/Woolworths/Safeway are so much cheaper they'll be more cost effective even IF they aren't as well made. And less likely to prioritise appearance over mundane considerations like pockets. Or places like Rivers or Army Disposal/Outdoor stores could be worth checking. (Sadly I guess Fletcher Jones won't be an option now). Maybe Cargo pants would suit you better but heavy things in the low front pockets are tiresome if you're rushing. I'm thinking of buying an angling jacket (a sort of mesh vest) from an outdoor store, just for the pockets. ( I 'm not into fish torturing, prefer to outsource that). Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to buy jeans?
I get my clobber from Target.
I visited Jeans West a couple of days ago but the pockets in their jeans are too small. My Samsung Galaxy S took up the entire space in one pocket (the top of the phone was just below the top of the pocket). This compares poorly to my current pair of jeans which can fit a Nexus 7 tablet in the pocket.
I think you're going to have great trouble turning that functional requirement into an SKU. Unless maybe you go to a specialist store that stocks gear explicitly for nerds, and charges a premium for it.
Reminds me of the "tactical" pants that someone (Stross?) was talking about a while back, which are just cargo pants rebranded for CoD weenies.
I have no idea where I bought my current pair of jeans, so I can't buy another the same.
I assume you already googled any likely-looking strings still legible on the care tag.
Also I don't really need pockets big enough for a tablet. A pocket the correct size for a Galaxy Note would be fairly ideal.
Any ideas other than getting a regular pair of jeans altered?
Not really, although putting a bigger front pocket onto a pair of jeans should be pretty easy if you have a sewing machine and an unpicker. The pocket is (almost) always thinner cloth, separate from the main denim part. Use a triple stitch over zig-zag or similar. _______________________________________________ luv-talk mailing list luv-talk@lists.luv.asn.au http://lists.luv.asn.au/listinfo/luv-talk
