Russell and anyone who is interested ; returning to the thread on the Librem 5 phone; I finally decided that I liked the idea enough to purchase one and hopefully; barring major hardware and software development problems; it will arrive in the third quarter of 2019. The issue I would be interested in hearing thoughts on is : How to demonstrate the features of the Librem 5 to a naive audience; the particular case is a friend who seems interested in the privacy aspects of the phone; but has almost no knowledge of computing; software and hardware eg IP 'masking I can demonstrate simply using one of the many " whatis my IP sites" but how about: - Matrix which seems to offer encrypted email and VOIP eg could this be demonstrated using some kind of 'packet-sniffing' utility ? - other privacy features like non-tracking -security features like proper isolation of apps from each other and the OS eg Would this extend to containment of malicious MS-Word macros ? .....if so this would be an impressive demo ! regards Rohan McLeod
