The problem here is that Ingress requires local maps for things like the power you collect. So if you install the app and there is no possibility of using it without visiting another country then it's not going to be useful. Now even if you can install it without Google's help and get it to work (maybe the power etc is added automatically based on Google Maps) then there's still the issue of not having a lot of people in Australia. In which case we might have to split the Android hacking people into two teams to make it fun.
