Last time I did that, I just wgetted films from archive.org. Have you considered and rejected that approach?
(I guess they probably don't have the content you want and/or it's too slow to fetch from just one host.)
archive.org also has .torrent files for some downloads, worth checking further options if the content is there. But for plenty of content wget or curl will get you the file /soon/ enough... Cheers A.
