I couldn't see when the legal basis for the above advice came into force; but back in the '90's , we set up a household account , which was called a 'club account', by the CUA (or some precursor); and was specifically designed for unincorporated organisations. The account was called some thing like "Taronga19", for the house where we all lived. It was a dual signature cheque account with changes to the signatories to the account ; to be authorised by the previous authorised signatories. I am curious whether such a thing would be possible now; because I have a business name 'OneManSmallVan' which as far as I can understand, is just an alias for Rohan McLeod, which is registered with Consumer Affairs Vic.; but I certainly can't open an account in that name !
