That claims one should use Ubuntu Software Center, which AFAIK is GUI wank wrapped around apt. According to rmadison, 13.0.1 is available in apt for lucid: $ rmadison thunderbird | grep lucid thunderbird | 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu4 | lucid | source, amd64, armel, i386, ia64, powerpc, sparc thunderbird | 3.1.20+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 | lucid-security | ia64, powerpc, sparc thunderbird | 3.1.20+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 | lucid-updates | ia64, powerpc, sparc thunderbird | 13.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 | lucid-security | source, amd64, armel, i386 thunderbird | 13.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 | lucid-updates | source, amd64, armel, i386
Have rebooted, and run System > Admin > Update Manager.
...but all I get on the new desktop system install is 13.0 not 13.0.1 The "About Thunderbird" windows between the two systems look identical otherwise.
Check the version with "dpkg -l thunderbird". if that does not report 13.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1, you do not have the latest version built for lucid by ubuntu.
