Last year, like many, I made a couple of remarks about the loss of life of some favourite people in the entertainment industry.
It is to my shame that I didn't comment on the time on the passing of Dr. D.A. Henderson, the person in charge of the eradication of smallpox. It took him and the team a mere 10 years to end smallpox on the planet.
We are all too busy with life. There was a lot else happening last year.
Smallpox was responsible for the deaths of an estimated 500 million people in the 20th century.
Now, on the anniversary of his passing I shall make amends.
Vale Dr. Henderson. You probably achieved more for the good of humanity than any person who has ever lived, and among the most needy among humanity.
