Also that law that lets the government gaol whistleblowers for like 10 years if they give a journalist *any* private information about the government, no matter how unimportant. Can't find a cite, but the example I remember was leaking the price of biscuits in the canteen. It came into force in like the 1910s, IIRC. Governments apply selective enforcement to cover up embarrassing scandals, rather than its originally intended use (protecting war secrets). Opposition won't ever move to strike down the law, because they know sooner or later they'll be back in power and using it.
