Regarding 'altuism'; once one leaves the clear waters of science: and 'what is happening' and 'what is causing it'; to ask or asert 'what should happen' one is actually in a category of philosophy, which deals with values, ethical-prescription and ethical-ends. Other categories are ontology, epistemology and perhaps metaphysics ! Whilst I would always support personal enquiry, over the authority of tradition; surely it can do no harm to check one's conclusions are not , overly parochial ? regards Rohan McLeod
