I'm looking for a specific motherboard, a GA-8I848-P775-G. It is about five or six years old and not available from any outlet on the web.
an ebay search for GA-8I848-P775-G comes up with only shops selling compatible RAM. but a search for GA-8I848 comes up with several shops selling motherboards for $30-$40 + shipping. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GIGABYTE-GA-8I848P-G-rev-2-0-848P-Socket-478-SATA... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-GA-8I848P-G-motherboard-ATX-i848P-Socket... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-GA-8I848P-G-P4-Socket-478-Pentium-4-Moth... BTW, it looks like an unremarkable and bog standard socket 478 motherboard. why the need for that specific brand and model? also, it'll cost about $50 or $60 to get that m/b (incl. shipping)....for not much more (about $100) you could get a cheap Intel 1155 pin motherboard, CPU, and 2GB RAM. or a cheap AMD AM3/AM3+ motherboard, CPU, and 2GB RAM. either of which would beat the crap out of a socket 478 system and be upgradable for the next few years, while socket 478 is long past end-of-life and has no future at all. IMO unless there's a really compelling reason to use that m/b and only that motherboard, it would be throwing good money away on obsolete junk. craig -- craig sanders <cas@taz.net.au> BOFH excuse #358: struck by the Good Times virus
