I have of late been trying to 'burn' ISO files to flash-cards and USB
sticks ie. SD memory.
If I boot with  EASEUS on a USB stick I can create an ISO image of a
bootable drive;
but when I come to 'burn' that image to a USB stick ; even when they do
burn they mostly
won't boot

Try UNetbootin... will take most ISO files and create a bootable USB device, is cross platform on *nix Mac and windows and you can have download an ISO of common distros or use ones you allready have works by automagic just click and go and it will extract the iso

........... obviously there is some complication  which I am not
understanding;
