I don't think it should have such a blinkered name & I'm not comfortable with the elitism & the vagueness of some of the rules but YMMV & time may reduce my caution. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Footscray Maker Lab We're back... After a lengthy hiatus we have some very exciting news to share with everyone. Thanks to months of work by a handful of members, we now have available to us: - A Space: A large workshop in West Footscray already being used by a handful of artists, builders, designers and the like. FML will have access to a sizeable portion of it for our needs with plenty of room to grow for future requirements of world domination. - Organisational Structure: We are in the process of incorporating and have a solid idea as to how we want to run and manage projects, people and the space. - Membership options: Whether you have a project, want to help someone else on theirs, help with the organising or are just happy to lend a hand at a working bee there are clearly defined ways for almost anyone to get involved. Simply put, we now have a purpose, governance structure and some resources (e.g. space) to help make it all happen. But we need people to come and be part of the community.
