I used to live in Canberra, and do recall a pall of smoke over the airport once. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-04-28/fire-crews-work-to-extinguish-large-ru... so perhaps the American obsession with dumpster fires diffuses outwards from major USA embassies towards the nearest tip/scrapheap? :) then of course there's a Belconnen fire that I found in the same google search http://citynews.com.au/2015/another-belconnen-garbage-fire/ which for those of your that know about Belco will be unsurprising.
