NFI, recommend you ask #openwrt on Freenode. I run WNDR3700 and 1043NDs on their recommendations, AFAIK they speak 802.11n. I'm using them as APs without installing any extra blobs, but that might just mean non-DFSG blobs are built into the stock OpenWRT firmware.
