Did you see any of the parts of the Bible which quote Jesus saying that the Pharisees, in their use of the "law of Moses" were wrong?
The Bible wasn't pro-slavery... it simply said that slaves should respect their masters. It also said that the people who are least will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven... as an extension of that. It portrayed Jesus as a servant. Slavery was a fact in first century Israel.
In Australia I think that all churches would support every slave who testifies against their owner in court. I think that a reasonable interpretation of our laws regarding self-defense would also allow a slave to kill their owner in order to escape. The majority of Australia's population declare themselves to be Christian, that means most police, most judges, and most members of juries. None of them seem to think that slaves should respect their owners. Advocating that slaves respect their owners IS advocating slavery.
Russell, if you want to come out and quote articles, and tell people that they "don't understand Christianity" as you told me, maybe you should do some reading yourself, and understand what you are talking about.
