I can't really justify spending over $400 on speakers. $150 is OK. maybe even $229 for the AV-40 if they were significantly better. but i doubt if i'd even notice or care about the difference betweeb $150 speakers and $400 speakers.
After following this discussion I just ordered the AV40-II from storeDJ for $139 on back order. It seems suitable for the tele in the lounge - I'm losing my top end with age and even with the reflectors my Samsung has got on the edges, the highs could be better. $139 including shipping isn't enough to fret over.
