Programs shouldn't even be recording all of the stuff in ~/.xsession-errors Unfortunately, it seems, nobody, not even the developers looks at this file any more, so errors and warnings that represent bugs don't get fixed. Just noticed mine is filling up fast with the following error. I think I might have to investigate this. Not really sure what is running amixer though (I use awesome, so no, not gome/kde stuff) amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0 -- Brian May <brian@microcomaustralia.com.au>
