Understand....:-)

There were 2 posts:
There is a class war happening in the country.
Between the Political Class (...in this case Mainstream Media, Public Transport Employees...ie TWU Union, Business ...in this case Metro and Politicians... ) and the vast silent majority just want to get on with life and don't give a rats what these guys and their selfish standoffs and mudslinging "I hate Tony or Bill or Julia or Chris or whoever BS.
On that front, the Age article was an epitome of ill conceived and selfish solutions based on the fact that you live within biking or walking distance of the CBD.
Perhaps come and live out our way in the East for a few weeks and you will understand.

Systemd was the subject of the second:
Again...there is a vast majority of System Admins that just deal with it and and all cases (I have regular contact with around 20 that manage around 400 Systems on my companies infra) have nothing bad to say about it...
From my own experience, its just a learning curve... shitty for drone Admins ...they wish the world didn't change but in the end CS is a progressive science. The world has not ended for those that have upgraded to RHEL/Centos7 in my domain. Bellicose drivel and weepy "why does the world go too fast for me" Sysadmins with pages of reasons why we should all just stay where we are is an 80's attitude for me are a sign of a crap operator........ if you don't like Systemd then they have the power to fix it themselves.

Again...as has been my meme for some time... argument for the sake of it is pathetic especially in the world of Open Source....and it needs to be highlighted lest the dribbly wahwahs take over and we end up in a new Victorian self censored and neo conservative era.... and the result of that would be to throw out the progress made since '95..

What a waste of human energy.

Hi Brent –

Sorry, I don’t completely understand whether you have problem with The Age, politicians, public transport employees, systemd, any combination thereof?

Regards

A so called "independent always" news outlet forgetting that the vast majority of us don't have the costly advantage of living in the latte sipping circle around the CBD. Arrogant ignorance multiplied by 1000.

What a bunch of Elitist and Selfish Bastards our political class have become!

I am lucky to have an employer that understands... and a job that allows me to telecommute...but my youngest child is stuck on how to get to college in the CBD from Lilydale...on an important day that requires a presence.
