Again I ask if people are serious - as opposed to moral posturing - why don't they come up with a specific proposal and show us the analysis of its impact?
I asked you before:
please explain what we will do with them [refugees] in Nauru or PNG?
Can you please answer one question? Thank you.
FYI: http://www.amnesty.org.au/action/action/33923/?&utm_source=int2014&utm_campa... Tim, you did not answer this question, as nobody does, including the responsible minister Scott Morrison. The lack of an answer is the reason for the unrest, the death and the injuries on Manus Island. See http://www.theage.com.au/comment/asylumseeker-policy-could-amount-to-crime-2... written by Sophie Rigne who worked on the International Criminal Tribunal. She makes the case that the policies in place amount to a crime against humanity which can be pursued by the court. "The ICC tries individuals, not government policies as such, so it would be particular people who would be indicted by the ICC. This could be the responsible minister, or indeed the prime minister. "Given that many of these policies were implemented under the last government, it is possible that the former minister and prime minister could also be indicted." Tim, it is one thing to ask "to explain" what other people might want to do. It is another matter to defend a policy which is contrary to all what makes us humans. Regards Peter
