if facebook had open protocols then someone else could write a facebook app that didn't steal your phone number even before you'd logged in. perhaps fighting for open protocols is the real solution.
I don't see how you'll make any headway with that, when it directly contradicts their business model.
I know an app developer at facebook. He's always so proud whenever they realease a new version of the app on 'droid or iOS. There's koolaid spewing out of his ears! Meanwhile, I have absolutely no idea what value the app adds over m.farceb0rk.com, other than filling up your internal storage if you thought you had too much free space. -- Tim Connors
