Even though I'm not small, I think the Note is too big to normal use. The gnex is just on the cusp of being too big, but it's comfortable for daily use

If you mostly do writing then a phone isn't much good, most modern phones aren't nearly as good as the iPaQ I used 10 years ago for text input, even a Galaxy Note will suck a bit although it should beat the iPaQ in many ways. For coding a phone doesn't have a big enough screen, but I think that with some Augmented Reality features it would be usable for when inspiration strikes while you are on the move (see the above URL). But for sysadmin work a big screen is really important. ssh on a 4" 854*480 screen is really painful. Even with a hardware keyboard (flip out or bluetooth) it's going to be difficult to use.
