I have to say that I've been burned by other crowd sourced projects and if puri.sm ever goes via one of the /other/ traditional platforms, then I wouldn't participate in any newer projects.
I would love to see this as well. Their laptop effort was criticised by some (for the quality and related reasons, I believe). I would love to get one of these after they iron out (expected) initial production issues and I really hope they succeed! Once this sees the light of day (finally), this device will be very popular (provided they don't go with other, 'traditional' platforms...
