Hi Russell, This is most likely a scam known as 'empty packet scalping' or 'brushing'. The good news is they aren't scamming you, they are scamming the site that their store is listed on. One metric used by Ali Baba and similar sites to rank sellers is sales volume. To combat fraud they require proof that the item shipped. To get around this shops post low value items to people that didn't order them, then give the shipping info to Ali Baba as proof of delivery. For the low cost of 2 shoe pouches they gain more legitimacy for their store. The bad news is that your name and shipping address (and any other details that appeared on the package) have been leaked from somewhere, good luck working out where. There's not much you can do about it. If the shoe pouches are useful you can use or donate them, otherwise throw them out. I just got 2 packets of "Shoes Pouch" delivered to me from China. They had my name and address correctly on the packet. Before today I didn't know what a "Shoes Pouch" was and I definitely didn't want to spend $US5+ on them (which the outside of the package declares as the value). I'm wondering if a Chinese company I ordered something had a computer error and sent me the wrong item. But I don't recall having any outstanding orders from Chinese companies.
Any idea on what I should do? I Googled the name listed as the sender and it seems to be a Chinese name that's more common than my name is in English.
